In 100 years the world will be unlivable because covered of melted plastic, high temperature, and with no more resources, therefore humanity will start going on space tourism on Mars or the Moons and eventually move there and settle. Fashion will be technological and will serve as a counter gravity to be able to walk and perform regular actions in space.

In 100 years the world will be automated, therefore humanity will have technology implemented in their brains, and we will wear tech-clothing that will give us extra skills (for instance; we will be able to move around with implemented drone; we will take photos with implemented camera while we experience something through a sensor chip that reads strong emotions).

In 10 years the world, thus cities, will be developed in height to not harm land and ecosystems, therefore humanity will create new alternative materials and resources, and we will wear entirely veg clothing made with sustainable energy.

 

In 5 years the world will be covered in screens, therefore humanity will no longer have interpersonal interactions as everything will be shared globally and not individually in the real world. People will stay single and loners for longer. Fashion will be the only expression tool to make love and friendship possible again.

How has being a loner become a trend? 

Next time you go for a walk, grab a coffee, have dinner, or wait for the metro, try this new exercise: look away from the screen of your phone and focus on what surrounds you. I see screens everywhere, on buildings, by the metro, on cars, inside cars, on people’s wrists, in people’s hands, in people’s eyes. I don’t see humans talking to other humans, rather talking to their screens or merely interacting with them with their finger tips. I would call this behavior screening. 

Where are all the face expressions, the voice tones, and the body languages? During the exercise I was genuinely looking for a smile, but found none. I see lots of smiley faces on the screens, but where are the real smiles with real teeth? Due to screening humanity has been caught in a bubbling behavior, meaning that every individual lives in its own bubble and the only relationship the individual has is with a screen. 

I virtually interviewed Jan, 38 years old, who is a virtual elementary school teacher, single with no kids. She states, “I think I lost the ability to genuinely talk to other people, especially people that attract me. I am not used to see their face expressions and I get scared if I see some strange thing happening on their face. I have the feeling that being behind a screen is a safe place for me.” I asked her what she would do If someone she is attracted to walked up to her and said “Hi, do you want to go grab a coffee together?”. She said “I would run away. I am not able to handle a face to face conversation. I would definitely not able to handle a conversation in such a small space like sitting at a coffee table. What if the person accidentally touches me?” I concluded the interview because I felt she was getting uncomfortable with the more intimate questions.

People like Jan are losing the ability to interact but most of all will not be able to teach it to further generations. I would not be scared for under population because there is artificial insemination, but what about friendships and love relationships? What about collective thinking and teamwork? We are slowly moving towards a world of individuals, rather than a team. Fashion is the only expression we can wear to make our position clear to other people. Fashion will be our way to smile and approach other people. Fashion will compensate this bubbling behavior by being loud and colorful.

How to save land, resources, and ecosystems?

It was recently discovered that Bari (in the South of Italy) is very suitable for collecting and spreading solar energy. The city council is planning on covering all the untouched land with solar panels. However a group of people have presented a new plan.

The plan consists of higher buildings that function as autonomous cities. Each building is provided with balconies covered in solar panels, therefore every city-building will work on its own, with its own resources, administration, factories, and people. The surrounding land will be used to grow food and develop new natural materials. Also, hemp will be grown on a larger scale. The people from Bari are willing to build a new sustainable format that can be adjusted to every city in the world. They believe in sustainable and autonomous work, resources, food, transportation, and clothing!
